Eskom says there’s a positive outlook on the system on Thursday

Eskom loadshedding

For the first time in so many weeks, Eskom had some good news to share on Thursday. It tweeted that there was a positive outlook for the electricity grid.

This should be good news to consumers and businesses tired of loadshedding that reached an unprecedented Stage 6 in December. The toll on jobs and the economy has been obvious.

“The system is looking better today as units that were on unplanned outages due to coal handling problems caused by flooding started pumping power into the grid – although not yet at full capacity,” Eskom said.

Eskom still said that it is monitoring the system and urged South Africans to help reduce demand to avoid load shedding.
