Home Brew Fest 2020

The Port Elizabeth Home Brew Fest 2020 will once again be held at Chicky’s Yard in Baakens Valley.  This years’ event takes place on Saturday 28 March from 12.00 to 22.00.

This is the third successive year of this festival, with the operative word being success!  This year you can expect over a 1000 litres of beer from 20 different home brewers.

Event organiser, Niall Cook, who is also the Master Brewer at Richmond Hill Brewing Company (RHBC), says “The event is collaboration between the local Yeastern Cape Home Brew Club (YCBC) and RHBC.”

The YCBC is an informal home brewers club that meets once a month at the German Club in Lorraine.  Home brewers can share information and sample each other’s wares.

“As in the past, the goal of this event is to promote beer and specifically the home brewing community.  We want to grow the club using this festival as a platform to enlighten the public on home brewing and the joys associated with it,” adds Niall.

Well of course there will be beer tasting but there will also be live music and food trucks.

Each of the brewers will have one or more brews available for tasting and Niall says that they expect as many as 40, and probably more, different beers to be on offer.

Tickets cost R140 at the door but pre booked tickets cost R110.  To pre book your tickets, click here.

Your ticket to the festival gets you entrance on the day, a branded tasting glass if you so choose and the chance to taste all the beers from the participating home brewers.

Niall says, “Our event has grown considerably, hence our ability to now offer corporate packages where, thanks to bulk purchases, we can offer a discounted rate to companies for corporate marketing or internal company incentives.”

If you are interested in becoming involved in corporate marketing and displaying your brand at the event please email Niall at niall@richmondhillbrewing.com.

This years’ Home Brew Fest promises to be bigger and better than before, see you there!
