I was delighted to have had the opportunity to spend a night with some of my friends at this luxury retreat. Having spent the majority of my trip in the northern suburbs and city centre of Cape Town, a trip down to the untouched beauty of Hout Bay was the perfect way to cap off a trip to the mother city.
I had previously visited the owners during a previous visit of mine, but the chance to spend a night at Victorskloof Lodge was one that I was not going to pass up.
The drive to Victorskloof takes you through the centre of Hout Bay, whilst the winding road begins to incline the closer one gets to the guest house. I began to think back to the views I had previously witnessed and the excitement began to build.
We were greeted by one of the Victorskloof staff members as well as the owner, Derek Paxton, who kindly showed us to our rooms. Once we had settled in, he advised where we should enjoy our evening whilst we were in the area. His friendly nature was well appreciated.
After we had all finished our hearty English breakfasts, which we all thoroughly enjoyed, it was time for us to say goodbye to the team and to Victorskloof. The lasting memories of the views, attention to detail and the friendly nature of the staff will forever stick in our minds.
I can certainly say that I left Victorskloof Lodge feeling refreshed; it was an experience not to be forgotten.
