ECDC to host 3rd annual Eastern Cape Export Symposium and Exhibition

The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) will host its third annual Eastern Cape Export Symposium and Exhibition under the theme “Reset Eastern Cape Exports to Improve Economic Resilience”.

According to Nobulali Myataza, ECDC Spokesperson; “The symposium aims to assist the Eastern Cape companies rebuild export capacity post the pandemic and offer the opportunity to tighten regional integration in ways that better leverage local resources to make the province globally competitive.

“The Export Symposium line up is made up of speakers from various participating countries such as the United States of America (USA), Australia, China, Ghana, U.A.E, Ethiopia, Guinea and Botswana.”

Myataza added that these are countries that the ECDC has formed strong trade relations with over the years, creating trading market access for both emerging and seasoned exporters.

“The geopolitical changes such as the leadership in USA and BREXIT, China’s economic emergence, implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area and the unprecedented global pandemic, are some of the topics to be considered,” she said.

“The discussions on the symposium will look at how the Eastern Cape and businesses within the province can capitalise on these changes for ensuring sustainable economic recovery.”

The hybrid event will allow for physical and online participation, which will take place on:
