Less than a week to go to enter Exporter of the Year Awards 2021

SA, Saudi Arabia cement trade ties

There are only a few days left to enter the Exporters Eastern Cape’s Exporter of the Year Awards 2021.

In its 26th year, the Exporter of the Year Awards is hosted to honour and acknowledge the achievements of Eastern Cape exporters and service providers to the province’s export industry.

“With only days left to submit your entry for the Exporter of the Year 2021 Awards, we encourage every exporter – be it direct or indirect – and every service provider to the export industry, to submit your entries. Winning these awards is a great opportunity for your company and your staff to get recognition for all the hard work which they richly deserve, in tough economic times,” said Exporters Eastern Cape Chairman Quintin Levey.

When judging this year’s entries, the judges will be focusing on innovative initiatives entrants have put in place during these trying times to manage costs and cash flows, retain employment levels, and their plans to recover to pre-Covid turnover levels.

Entries for the Awards close on Wednesday, 2 June and winners will be announced in the following categories:

  • Transnet Emerging Exporter Award (new category);
  • SJM Flex Environmental Award;
  • SJM Flex Environmental Practice Award;
  • IDC Job Creation Award;
  • Best Provider of Services to Exporters;
  • Best Exporter: Small Business;
  • Best Exporter: Medium Enterprises;
  • Best Exporter: Corporate Category; and
  • Best Exporter: OEM.

The Overall Exporter of the Year for 2021 will be chosen from these category winners.

This year’s Awards ceremony will be unique as it will be a hybrid event hosting a select group of guests in person at the Boardwalk, as well as online and in small groups gathered at member companies.

“The event brings incredible value to our sponsors as it can now be viewed and reached globally which is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your brand to a wider audience,” said Levey.

The hybrid event, taking place on Friday 20 August, will be a blend of live streaming, awards announcements, and pre-recorded speeches. It promises to offer a celebration of successes, superb entertainment, attendance prizes and a few surprises.

Entrants can submit their completed entry form (downloadable from Exporter’s EC website at https://www.exportersec.co.za/exporter-awards/ ) accompanied by all relevant documentation, photos and company logo to Exporters Eastern Cape Branch Coordinator, Suzanne Vermeulen at info@exportersec.co.za.
