U.S.-based blockchain innovator True I/O has forged a strategic partnership with South African Digital Solutions Group (DSG) and appointed Vincent Maher as its new global CEO.

Vincent Maher’s appointment comes on the heels of an illustrious career in South Africa’s digital and mobile technology sector, notably with MultiChoice as the Group Executive for Digital and as the Chief Innovation Officer for Kagiso Media. Maher is the chair of the Modern Marketing Association (MMA) in South Africa and has a long history of digital innovation. His expertise is expected to drive True I/O’s mission in the blockchain arena.

True I/O is a Real World Asset tokenisation business, offering advanced solutions for secure, efficient digital transactions. Its two core products are Universal Communication Identifier (UCID), which empowers IT teams to rapidly stamp and track assets across various networks, and Digital Names, which centralises the sending and receiving of digital assets into a single, easily manageable location using human-readable names.

Thomas Carter, Chairman of the Board at True I/O and founder of DealBox, emphasises the significance of this new chapter. He views the partnership with DSG and Vincent Maher’s leadership as key elements in redefining the blockchain landscape.

“Our partnership with Digital Solutions Group is a new chapter in our growth and expansion, and Vincent Maher is going to lead the industry towards large-scale blockchain adoption,” said Carter.

In July 2022 True I/O announced the implementation of the Electronic Medical Mobile Application (EMMA) by the U.S. government. This initiative, aimed at modernising the filing of workers’ compensation, property, and tort claims, leverages True I/O’s Universal Communication Identifier (UCID).

The partnership with DSG aims to grow the True I/O footprint across Africa and Europe and to extend its products and platforms into new areas, leveraging the DSG technology capability and its extensive reach into the continent for fintech, digital payments and other enterprise and e-government applications.

Yaron Assabi, DSG’s founder, sees this collaboration as a gateway to new technological possibilities.

“As an innovator in digital transformation, we are truly excited about True I/O platform and the ability to secure mobile financial services transactions and make them more seamless using blockchain as the underlying platform and helping Africans to leapfrog from unbanked to the latest innovations in banking,” said Assabi.
