Top Five Leather Care Products in South Africa

leather care

Business Link spoke to Shawn Heath, the owner of Detail My Ride, to find out which products are best for leather care.  This is part two of a three part series on the best products for car care.

Detail My Ride offers a premium car detailing service to all lovers of cars.  Shawn says that they lovingly clean, refurbish and polish all manner of cars – from inexpensive runabouts to supercars.

“The one thing all these cars have in common is an owner who loves their vehicle,” says Shawn.

Leather is hugely popular for upmarket care interiors because it is comfortable and durable.  However, by its very nature leather absorbs all manner of liquids and oils and over time it may become very discoloured and it may become dry and then deteriorate.

Shawn says, “As detailers a large portion of our time is spent on leather care.  Many of the vehicles that we service come to us with leather seats and trim in very bad condition and, thanks to some very good products, we are able to transform the leather from old, stained and cracked to almost show room condition again.”

These products are listed below.

  1. Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner

Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner comes in a foam dispenser bottle as foams clean the leather more efficiently than liquid agents. Foam also lowers the consumption and the leather does not become wet, which could otherwise become hard after drying.  Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner is perfect for use against normal degrees of soiling.
